Changes to Reporting

This information applies to ALL STUDENTS, on JUNIOR CAMPUS AND SENIOR CAMPUS.

The Department of Education and the Queensland Teachers Union are undergoing a major review of the workload for Teachers.

One of the first things that we will implement to support the workload review is to follow the joint statement that reporting to parents is required only twice per year, with two opportunities per year for parent-teacher interviews, as per the Education Act (and therefore the P-12 CARF).

We have been doing double what is required and double what many other schools have been doing, increasing the workload of our staff. I fully support all of my Team having a healthy work life balance so that they can be at their best when in front of students in the classroom.

The team have discussed this and agreed that the best schedule to support ongoing communication:

End of term 1: parent teacher night, no reporting;
End of term 2: reports emailed home;
End of term 3: parent teacher night on Junior, no reporting for either campus;
Start of term 4: parent teacher night on Senior;
End of term 4: reports emailed home.
