Term 3, 2021 Year 11 Block Exams and Year 12 Mock Exams begin on Monday 6 September 2021 and conclude on Friday 10 September 2021.

Further information is provided (linked), including:
  • Block/Mock Exam Timetable
  • Directions for Students
  • Exam Equipment List
  • Information regarding Managing Academic Misconduct
During the Block/Mock Exam period, students are still required to attend all their regular timetabled classes unless they have a scheduled exam.

Please note that a supervising teacher who is NOT the regular class teacher has been assigned to supervise the exams in order to help prepare students for the same conditions in the Year 12 External Examinations.

Students are to be aware of and adhere to the new Senior Secondary Assessment Policy.

Processes for Absences from Exams

Planned Absence:

  • If a student believes they will be unable to attend an exam due to a schooling conflict (e.g. School-Based Traineeship day), they must make every effort to nullify the conflict (e.g. change their Traineeship day). If they are unable to do this, they are to immediately inform the Head of Senior Secondary so that arrangements can be made to sit an alternate exam on an alternate day.
 Unplanned Absence:

  • If a student is absent on the exam day due to illness, contact must be made with the College to explain the reason for the absence, and a medical certificate must be provided for the date of the scheduled exam.
  • If a student is absent on the exam day due to an unforeseen event, contact must be made with the College to explain the reason for the absence, and official documentation must be provided (e.g. police report, court subpoena, death or funeral notice).
  • Upon returning to College students must meet with the Head of Senior Secondary to arrange a time to sit an alternate exam and organise an AARA to be submitted to QCAA validating the absence.
  • If there is no validated reason for an absence, students will receive a ‘Not Rated’ result for their exam. Any incomplete or ‘Not Rated’ assessment item within a subject’s unit renders the whole unit ‘Not Rated’ and therefore contributes ZERO points towards the student’s QCE.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Vikki Kelly, Head of Senior Secondary, at vkell15@eq.edu.au .

We wish all students the best in their assessment and exams.
