2023 Year 11 Camp

As part of the Year 11 curriculum, students have the opportunity to attend a Camp held at Emu Gully Adventure Centre from Wednesday 12th to Friday the 14th July, 2023 (Week 1, Term 3).

The objectives of the leadership camp is to aid in the development of students’;
  • Decision making skills;
  • Ability to function as an effective team member;
  • Ability to identify leadership styles;
  • Conflict resolution skills; and
  • Motivational skills.
A further letter will be distributed later in Term 2 outlining the finer details of the camp including; activities, dietary requirements, medical form and what to pack.

Students will be expected to comply with the terms of the College Responsible Behaviour Plan for students for the duration of this activity.

Activity details:
  • Location Address: Emu Gully Adventure Centre
  • Date: Wednesday 12th July – Friday 14th July.
  • Departure Time: Students will depart the Senior Campus at 8:15 AM from the undercover tuckshop area.
  • Return Time: Students will arrive back to the Senior Campus on Friday the 14th of July by approximately 14:30 PM. Any delays will be communicated to parents by text on the day.
  • Activity Risk Level: Medium - All activities are fully risk managed and led by on site Emu Gully staff. Year 11 teachers will also accompany students at all times throughout the camp.
  • Teacher Leader: Ms Yvonne Gee
  • Transport: Students will be travelling by belted bus to and from the camp.
  • Dress Code: Students are to wear appropriate free dress for the camp.
  • Other Requirements: NB NO aerosols allowed due to a staff member having severe anaphylaxis. Roll on allowed.

 Medication Required on Camp:
The Department recognises that all medications, including over-the-counter (OTC) medications, e.g. paracetamol or alternative medicines, may be drugs or poisons and may cause side effects. As such, schools are required to receive medical authorisation from a prescribing health practitioner (e.g. doctor, dentist, optometrist, but not a pharmacist) to administer any medication to students, including those bought over-the-counter.
 
Activity Costs:
The total cost of the camp is $280.00 which includes accommodation, all meals and transport. Along with the initial permission form, a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required to the office by the 21st of April, 2023 (Week 1, Term 2). The balance of $230.00 is then required to be finalised by the 16th of June, 2023 (Week 9, Term 2). This amount is non-refundable.
